How do I post an ad?
Employers post an ad by completing a job advertisement form, which guides you through the posting process. Ad text for available positions is written by you - the advertiser - in 5,000 characters or less. (ALA reserves the right to condense ads if the specified word count is exceeded.) In order to facilitate searches by prospective candidates, your ad will be formatted to begin with selected information prior to being uploaded.
Ads will run on the website for four consecutive weeks from the day they are activated. Expired ads will remain in your Account Center and can be reactivated by you at any time, although they will be charged as a new job posting.
Organizations that employ a current ALA member will be charged $299 for posting an ad. Non-member organizations will be charged $499. These same fees apply if an ad is renewed. Additional fees apply if the blind box service is used.
Organizations who desire anonymity may utilize our blind box service. Electronic replies will be routed to you through ALA's network so that your anonymity is maintained.
ALA members will be charged $149 (per ad posting) for the blind box service; non-members will be charged $249.
The job bank is updated on a regular basis. New ads paid for by credit card will be uploaded to the website immediately. Ads paid for by check will be activated upon receipt of payment (Usually within 10 business days).
During the posting process you will have the opportunity to view your ad as potential candidates will view it. If at that time you decide changes are needed, you can edit your ad. In addition, you can edit your active job posting at any time through the Account Center.
ALA does not keep a collection of sample ads. However, to give you an idea of what other organizations are doing you can view the current employer ads.
ALA will accept ads for legal administrator, functional specialist, and legal support staff positions including but not limited to law clerks, paralegals/legal assistants, legal secretaries and other non-lawyer support staff positions. ALA is currently not accepting ads for lawyers, or for management positions in service industries and retail settings.
ALA acts only as a clearinghouse and not as an employment agency. We do not enter into salary negotiations or mediate disputes that may arise. In addition, ALA is not responsible for the content of job postings. Please email email@example.com with any questions or concerns about any postings.
