SUMMARY: Performs a variety of administrative duties for attorney(s), and management to whom assigned according to established policies and procedures. Maintains positive contact with clients, staff, attorneys and observes confidentiality of client matters. ? ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Highly motivated professional with no less than five (5) years of experience in a law firm setting, in the litigation practice. 2. Prepares correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents from written drafts, drafts correspondence, and other legal documents. Screens telephone calls and records messages. 3. Files time-sensitive legal documents with minimal instruction and produces litigation-specific work such as briefs, e-filings, Tables of Authorities/Contents, legal numbering, discovery binders, proofreads, research court rules, etc. 4. Reads, sorts and dates incoming mail. Ensures that outgoing mail is timely delivered. If necessary, routes mail to specific delivery service and follows up on timely delivery. 5. Establishes and maintains calendar and deadline reminder systems; utilizes master calendar system. 6. Opens new files, requests conflict of interest checks with file room records and maintains all client and general files. Conducts periodic review for possible storage of older files; prepares files to be closed. 7. Receives clients and visitors; maintains good public relations with clients; observes confidentiality of attorney-client relationship. 8. Processes bills; proofs billing sheets; reviews and edits bills. 9. Assist in preparation of the case for trial; perform assigned legal research tasks using all available resources. 10. Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., create Word documents that require basic features to complex formatting such as Styles and Formatting, Table of Contents, Tables of Authorities and other document related functionalities) 11. Performs other duties as needed. ? Must be able to pay high attention to details and perform well under pressure. 3. Must have exceptional time management and organizational skills. 4. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize and willingness to learn. 5. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; flexibility is needed. 6. Must be a team player. ? WORKING CONDITIONS:1.
